Jarret F. Spence was born on August
26, 1973 in Valparaiso, Indiana. He was blessed to be
raised up in The Church of Jesus Christ in Portage, Indiana
by his parents Bishop Jarret Randell and Judy Spence. The
Lord dealt with him at youth camp in 1989 and he was
baptized in August of that year. He received the Holy Ghost
in January of 1990.
In 1991, he graduated from Portage High School and enrolled
at Purdue University as an Elementary Education major. It
is here that he met his future wife, Caryn. Caryn was born
on August 16, 1974 in East Chicago, Indiana and was raised
in Gary, Indiana. She graduated from high school in 1992
and also enrolled at Purdue University as an Elementary
Education major. She knew from an early age that God was
dealing with her and prayed that God would lead her to the
truth. This happened in 1997, when Caryn and Jarret's paths
crossed at Purdue. She was invited to church and accepted
the truth and began her walk with Jesus Christ. She was
baptized on January 10, 1998 and received the Holy Ghost
March 8, 1998. She has been a Sunday School teacher since
that time.
In May of 1998, Jarret and Caryn both graduated from Purdue
with degrees in Elementary Education. The Lord has blessed
them both with jobs that enable them to take off work
whenever necessary to attend tent meetings and other church
functions.
On July 18, 1998, Jarret and Caryn
were married in The Church of Jesus Christ by Bishop Spence.
They have since been blessed with two daughters Zoe and
Grace. In May of 2005, Jarret received his Master's degree
in Elementary Education and continues to work as a second
grade teacher. Jarret and Caryn are looking forward to
working with Bro. Travis and Sis. Nora Hensley to make youth
camp an enjoyable memory for everyone.
